First Link


This page is solely dedicated to test a recent SEO theory involving only the first link of a particular URL passing ranking relevances via anchor text. The idea is to link to this page from my homepage with two distinct anchor texts, wait for both pages to be crawled and recached, then proceed to do a Google rankings check to diagnose which anchor passed relevance.
And here we go…
UPDATE 7/15/10
So after letting Google crawl this entire site, including this page, the home page, and the actual post page with the anchor links reside, my initial hypothesis has proved to be valid. Google only seemed to pass ranking relevance to the first anchor, and not the 2nd.
What I will be experimenting now is a very similar experiment, but this time the 2nd link will point to a page anchor of the same page that the first link to pointing.
