Could it get any worse for Detroit?
Poor Deeeetrrrooiiittttt. The Detroit Lion’s 2008 season finished 0-1was followed by their pathetic performance winning only two games in 2009. The hopeless NFL team is tied with other local embarrassments. Michigan’s own GM needed almost $13.5 B emergency loan from the feds to avoid Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing which would not have been advised by local Ann Arbor bankruptcy attorneys. And then there is the Greektown Casino which shed any hope of an economic turnaround for Michigan. The filed for bankruptcy protection in May, where they were down over 16% from the year prior.m poor Detroit. they game than any other team in the entire NFL franchise.

A great piece on 60 minutes last night spoke of the San Francisco Bay Bridge and the potentially devastating impact on the bay area if an earthquake were to strike. According to the segment, the two fault lines in the earth directly below the Bay Area are supposed to cause and earthquake every 140-150 years; the area’s last earthquake was nearly 140 years ago. The segment really honed in on the worry-free approach to getting a new bridge built that could withstand an earthquake. Apparently this plan had gone into place in 1990, is still have yet to be completed after 20 years of bureaucratic delays.

Judge Judy questions some recipients of social security disability on whether or not they should qualify to receive such benefits. Apparently the first recipient should have acquired better disability lawyers as he claims the government doesn’t care if someone on social security collects cash on top of their monthly payments to supplement their income.

A colleague of mine, AJ Byrum, pointed this story out to me the other day which had originally aired on the National Geographic Channel. Apparently a local metal detectorist in Britain’s midlands came across Anglo-Saxon treasure in the middle of a farm field. Who lays claim to this treasure? It’s rights? It’s monetary value? Turns out the landowner as well as the finder each were awarded a finder’s fee claim of the share.
Creepy Tiger Woods Commercial

Nike golf just released a new Tiger Woods commercial that quite possible could be the creepiest commercial I’ve ever seen on TV. Did Nike really need to bring up the whole Tiger Woods scandal fiasco ahead of this weekend’s Masters? Not only is this commercial very creepy, but I think it makes Tiger look even worse.
If anything, Nike should have replayed last year’s Tiger commercial, which remains one of my favorite commercials of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTuk5Uloyjg
