On the tracks and in the railyard, there is an average of 10,000 railroad accidents every year. These accidental injury and wrongful death cases damage the lives of individuals within the railroad industry as well as ordinary citizens. The safety concern goes further than that, though. Trains are surrounded by employees working on duty and often those not on duty. Accidents involve train passengers but also involve trespassers, contractors and sometimes people off railroad property. With all of these potential liabilities, it’s essential railroad companies maintain a good safety profile.
