Spring is here and so are my allergies!

Spring is just around the corner and I can’t help but think about the terrible allergies that I get in the April and May months. The levels of pollen in my area seem to grow larger and larger as the years pass. A few months ago I visited my allergist New York to get some tips on how best to protect myself from horrible allergies this coming spring.
One tip in particular that I found quite interesting was that I shouldn’t use my air conditioner any more than is absolutely needed. The reason for this is that an air conditioner sucks in pollen from the outside and transfers it into my home causing some lovely sneezing attacks.
Another tip my allergist gave was to avoid spending a lot of time around trees, grass and weeds since these are the biggest producers of pollen in the spring time. If I… Read the rest
Parents uproar over TSA handling children

In response to the TSA’a latest announcement of more invasive pat-downs at the airports, parents across the country are livid at the thought of their children being molested by airport officials. There are two options for going through airport security including a full body imaging scan using a metal detector such as the Garrett Pro Pointer, or a full rubber gloved pat down.
It seems to me that this is just another thing to complain about for people. If these things didn’t exist, we’d be complaining about the lack of security and vulnerability knowing that a terrorist can bring items on a plane via there children. So what’s the alternative to ensuring all little ones boarding a plane pass the same type of inspection that adults do? Children should be subject to the same inspections as adults.
Like anything, there will be those profound cases that make the… Read the rest

The Associated Press reported today that Democratic state Senator Gloria Romera has proposed a bill that would change the state rock of California. The Serpantine, which was chosen in 1965, contains the mineral asbestos which has since been found to cause such diseases as mesothelioma, lung cancer, throat cancer and asbestosis. As any California mesothelioma lawyer can attest asbestos related deaths in CA are high. Romera defends her bill by citing this prevalence of mesothelioma in the Golden State. The AP quotes Romera as saying:
“We know that California has the highest rates of mesothelioma deaths in the nation and we don’t think it’s appropriate to be celebrating as the state rock something which contains asbestos.”
Geologists are voicing objections to the bill, pointing to the Serpentine as a historical symbol of the Gold Rush that brought settlers to the state in 1849. There is an… Read the rest

Andy Crouppen from the law firm of Brown and Crouppen in St Louis Missouri sits down with Channel 4 to discuss a hot legal topic around dogs and their owners. Attorney Crouppen makes it quite clear in the beginning of this segment that he is by no means a dog hater; in fact he adores dogs and even has a few of his own.
So what happens when a child wanders over into the neighbor’s yard and gets bitten by the neighborhood dog? Well without referencing scenes from ‘The Sandlot’, the pet owner can potentially be liable for the bite. Missouri law used to dictate a policy where, ‘the first bit is free’ since many owners would have no way of determining their dog to be dangerous less they performed the act. Now the law has become much more strict and hold owners liable.
One interesting tip that Brown and… Read the rest
