Attorney Crouppen makes it quite clear in the beginning of this segment that he is by no means a dog hater; in fact he adores dogs and even has a few of his own.

So what happens when a child wanders over into the neighbor’s yard and gets bitten by the neighborhood dog? Well without referencing scenes from ‘The Sandlot’, the pet owner can potentially be liable for the bite. Missouri law used to dictate a policy where, ‘the first bit is free’ since many owners would have no way of determining their dog to be dangerous less they performed the act.  Now the law has become much more strict and hold owners liable.
